Mangaluru, Jun 13: Johnlyn Toy Exchange, shut for two years due to Covid, resumed its activities by holding a toy distribution programme on June 12 for 37 children, aged 6 to 16 years, at Children’s Home at Bondel. The toys in this case had been collected in Mumbai, mainly at Portugese Church at Dadar, and had been transported to Mangaluru by leading transport logistics company, tracing its pioneering parentage to Canara Transport - thanks to the courtesy of its MD, Vasant Kudva. The local transport for collection and distribution points is done through the courtesy of Karnataka Agencies, handling Mahindra vehicles, through the courtesy of its MD, Richard Rodrigues.
At the Bal Bhavan toy distribution program, it superintendent, Shridhar KA facilitated the function and presided over it while an earlier superintendent, Venkappa, did the liaison for smooth execution of the programme. They and John Monteiro’s family members took turn to do the presentation of toy hampers. The gratis photo coverage of the function is by John Tauro.
The programme concluded with refreshments and cold drinks for the children.
