Puttur, Jun 14: Parents, teachers and representatives of educational institutions have pressurized KSRTC officials to resolve many issues in the bus passes that are provided on discount basis to students of schools and colleges.

Public placed their appeal in the public contact meeting of KSRTC which was held on Monday under the presidentship of MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor.

Representative of Vivekananda College Puttur said that the mobile phone numbers do not receive OTP of the students even after a month of applying for bus pass. On June 4 many applied in cyber centres and only four have got passes so far.

Teacher of Shivarama Karantha School said that there is network issue in their area and also some students do not have mobile phones. It is better if the passes are given based on the certificate given by the educational institution like earlier.

The KSRTC official said that the Seva Sindhu portal is under the control of government and they cannot do anything about it. He said that the schools themselves can do the registration online. For college students the old pass itself is extended till end of June and new passes will be given by that time.

The issue of gram panchayat certification was raised in the meeting. Many said that gram panchayats are refusing to give the certificate.

Vittal gram panchayat member Arun accused that driver and conductor of bus that plies from Vittal to Puttur used derogatory words to students on June 11. The officials assured of investigation.
