Mangaluru: St Agnes College to observe International Yoga Day on June 21

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 18: The Post Graduate department of Psychology and Clinical Psychology, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru will be observing the International Yoga Day, on June 21.

Stemming from the Sanskrit word 'yuj' which translates into meaning 'union', the practice of Yoga aims in creating a union between the mind and the body, thereby promoting the overall health of individuals.

Given the invaluable contribution of Yoga towards wellbeing, in 2015 a motion was passed by the United Nations marking every June 21 as International Yoga Day, the theme for the year being 'Yoga for humanity'. In order to observe this, St Agnes College in collaboration with Decathlon and Yoga Chetana invites participants to engage in this experience. The programme will start at 7 am at the Old Auditorium, UG Block. After the inaugural function, participants will be oriented to the theoretical underpinnings of Yoga, followed by the practice of the same.
