M'luru: Srinivas Institute organizes workshop on 'Overhaul Engine, Inspection, Service procedures'

Mangaluru, Jun 18: The Mechanical Engineering Students association (ASMA) of Srinivas Institute of Technology organized two days Hands - on workshop on 'Overhaul Engine, Inspection and Service procedures' on June 17 and 18. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. Dr Shankar K S, HOD of Mechanical Engineering, Dr Raghavendra M J, association faculty coordinator, Abhishek H B, association president, resource persons professor Jerome Antony and professor Varun N, department of Automobile Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru were present during the occasion.

Shrinivasa Mayya D, in his inaugural address congratulated the association members for organizing hands-on workshop. He said that these workshops will enhance the knowledge about mechanics and the technology of today’s modern vehicles. Also he mentioned that these trainings make the students to apply classroom theory to real world situations. Dr Shankar K S asked the students to actively participate in the workshop and translate the knowledge obtained in lectures, into tangible, physical practice.

Professor Jerome Antony explained the inspection and service procedures including diagnosing issues with the vehicles. Professor Varun N explained about the Overhauling and assembly of parts of the automotive engines and other accessories’. The workshop was coordinated by Pratheek Jose, Nihal Rai and Siddarth U of Mechanical Engineering.
