Bantwal: Thieves Steal Gold Ornaments from Vittal Padnoor

Bantwal, Mar 14: Unknown thieves entered the house of a person named Mohammed Shariff, a resident of Kadambu in Vittal Padnoor village in the taluk, and stole gold ornaments worth about Rs 3.12 lac. The theft reportedly occurred in the early hours on Saturday March 12.

Shariff runs a business in Bangalore, and he visits home once a month. His wife, children, and his brother live here.

The sleeping family members said they heard some sound at around 4 am on Saturday, and Shariff’s wife, who woke up and checked, saw a youth running away, through the rear door. Upon checking cupboard where valuables were kept, she found all the gold ornaments, a Rado watch and Rs 300 in cash were stolen.

There are no signs of any of the doors or windows having been forced open. The policemen have not been able to get any clues. There are indications that the thief or thieves would have hidden inside the house and acted in darkness. Finger print experts and sniffer dogs visited the spot.
