Vasan calls for youth to join in Agnipath scheme


Chennai, Jun 21 (IANS): Tamil Manila Congress president and former Union Minister, G.K. Vasan have called upon the youth of the nation to grab the opportunity and join in the Agnipath scheme.

In a statement on Tuesday, the senior leader said that everyone should support the Agnipath scheme and that the youth should not be misled by the political protests being held across India.

He said that the union government envisaged the Agnipath scheme with a futuristic vision that would pave the way for better security and a better India.

The former union minister who is the son of illustrious Congress leader late G.K. Moopanar, said that the scheme will modernize the armed forces and will make India a strong nation with the participation of the youth.

Vasan said that youth is required for strengthening the security of the nation and that central government has taken efforts to fulfill that requirement.

The TMC leader said that the scheme would help youth become financially independent and get them jobs in armed forces or in the government or private sector.

He also said that the youth of Tamil Nadu in particular must make use of this opportunity and join the Agnipath scheme.
