Udupi: Social workers foil suicide bid by visiting cook at pvt guest house

Udupi, June 22: A suicide bid by an unidentified youth was foiled due to the presence of mind exhibited by some social workers on Wednesday, June 21.

A dejected resident of Mangaluru was on a visit to a private guest house in Udupi where he attempted to end his life. When he was looking for a suitable place to commit suicide, the social workers came to know of it. They rushed to the spot and rescued the despondent person by counselling him besides handing over the person over to his relatives.

It is said that the person was on a visit here as a cook.

The social workers who were responsible for changing the mind of the dejected person were Krishnamurthy Acharya, Nithyananda Olakadu, Deepak and Harish Ameen.

    Have done good job.That doesnt mean danger is not yet over.Care him intensively and offer him some suitable counselling when possible better envirement to have a peaceful life.Hope he will use his second chance of life better and dont dwell again in bad thoughts.Ask him his problems .try to give soothing advice.May God bless him.
