Mangaluru: Srinivas University organizes National level conference

Mangaluru, Jun 23: With the blessings of the chancellor of Srinivas University, C A A Ragavendra Rao and under the guidance of pro chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao , Institute of physiotherapy, Srinivas university conducted the 6th National level conference on 'Holistic approach to healthy aging and geriatric rehabilitation' on June 21.

Over 100 delegates participated from various physiotherapy colleges across Mangaluru. Six eminent speakers from across the state engaged the delegates with their enlightening sessions on importance of geriatric rehabilitation. The conference started with the inaugural ceremony.

Dr S Rajasekar, dean, College of Physiotherapy and organizing chairperson delivered the welcome address. Dr Aishwarya Sonawane, assistant professor, Institute of Physiotherapy and Organizing Joint Secretary briefed about the necessity of the conference and importance of geriatric rehabilitation. The chief guest of today’s event, Dr Naveen Chandra Kulal,District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer, Mangaluru graced the occasion with his presence and kind words on the importance of healthy aging and caring of the elderly.

The guests of honour, Dr David Rosario, medical superintendent, Srinivas Hospital and Research Centre, Mukka and Dr Ajay Kumar registrar (Development), congratulated the organizing team and encouraged the delegates with their words of motivation. Dr Premkumar, associate professor and organizing secretary of today’s event delivered the vote of thanks. Post inaugural ceremony was followed by speaker sessions and scientific poster presentations. All the speakers were bestowed with memento as a token of appreciation. The winners of scientific poster presentation were awarded with cash prize.
