Mangaluru: Manipal School holds investiture ceremony

Mangaluru, Jun 23: The investiture ceremony of Manipal School for the academic year was held on Saturday, June 18 at Marena Sports Complex, Attavar. The installation of the newly elected school cabinet is a momentous occasion for the school and its students.

The chief guest Dr Dilip G Naik, pro vice chancellor MAHE, Mangaluru campus, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. He was joined by the principal Anuradha Shivaram, the PTA president Arun Raj Rodrigues, vice president Sachin KJ and the school captain Rishabh MG.

Dr Dilip G Naik then installed the young cabinet members in office by handing over the badges. In his address Dr Dilip G Naik congratulated the young leaders and stressed on the MAHE values of Integrity, Transparency, Quality, Team work, Execution with passion and the humane touch. He urged the cabinet members to take up a school project based on the Sustainable Development Goals to develop insights into critical issues around the world and create positive change around them.

He added that it was a pleasure to see a miniature of the democratic system represented in the school which gave students hands on experience of how the parliamentfunctions especially with the presence of a robust opposition.

The principal, Anuradha Shivaram administered the oath to the new office bearers wherein the newly elected leaders pledged to uphold the dignity and honour of the school with their hard work, dedication and perseverance.

In his acceptance speech, Rishabh M G, the newly elected school captain, thanked his teachers for moulding him well and promised to fulfill his duties to the best of his abilities. He assured that he and his team would support the principal and teachers in making the school a better place. Shikha Bhandary, the opposition leader welcomed the gathering and Mohammed Arsh, the vice-captain delivered the vote of thanks. Students AyshaReem and Pratham Vasani compered the programme with elan. The academic coordinator for the High School Srilatha Alva and senior teachers, admin staff of the school and students of Grades IX and X were also present.

The function concluded with the National Anthem.
