Beltangady: Sacred Heart College organizes mega commerce, cultural fest 'KGF-3'

Beltangady, Jun 25: Commerce education enables the youth to understand and judge the various trends of trade and business in the modern world. By keeping such scenario and thought in mind department of Mcom of Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar organised such a mega commerce and cultural fest 'KGF-3' for 3 days from June 20 to 22 for the undergraduate students of Sacred Heart College. The objective of the fest was to provide a new dimension and platform for the students to showcase their talents to become more innovative and curious learners and enable them to compete in the modern business and to pace with the modern world. The Abbreviation of KGF-3 is Knowledge Goal and Fiesta for 3 days.

The inaugural ceremony commenced was held on June 20 in the main indoor auditorium of MCom premises amid cheer and applause. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Fr Basil Vas the correspondent of Sacred Heart Educational Institutions. The dignitaries were Dr TK Sharath Kumar, principal of Government First Grade College Punjalkatte, Dr Joseph NM, principal of Sacred Heart College Madanthyar. Nelson Monis, the coordinator of MCom Department, student coordinators of KGF-3 Mega fest, Wilma Priya Moras, Sharath Kumar, Swathi Shenoy, Jose Thomas were also present on dais.

The inaugural session began with prayer by prayer team. The president and dignitaries were welcomed and invited on to the dais for lighting of the lamp by the hosts of the inaugural session Namrutha and Rashmi R. Swathi Shenoy in her welcome address underlined the objective of organizing commerce fest. She said that the fest will enhance the innovative and managerial skills of students and make them aware of how to apply theoretical aspects to real life situation. Dr TK Sharath Kumar the guest of honour shared his happiness to be part of the fest and thanked department of PG studies in Commerce for inviting him. In his address he emphasized on the things which student should follow in their life. He said they are enriching skills, developing the habit of reading and participating in such competitions will make u more competitive.

Dr Joseph NM, the principal in his address said that Commerce education plays a very important role in the changing business world. It is the most important key which leads to success in all sectors of economy. He congratulated and thanked department of M.Com for organising such an unique themed fest and putting lot of efforts to organize such an amazing fest. Fr Basil Vas in his presidential remarks highlighted the relevance of conducting commerce fest. He said that it enables the students to face the market situation, to adapt themselves to the present circumstances. Moreover, it helps them to meet the global competition. The guests were felicitated with a memento as a token of love and appreciation. The inaugural session came to an end with the vote of thanks by student coordinator miss Wilma Priya Moras.

As a part of this mega fest, various events and competitions were conducted under Marketing, Finance, Business Quiz, Best Management team, and Group dynamics. Various rounds like Share price, Currency identification, Logo arrangements, Rapid fire, Group Fun, Balancing Game, Cooking Without Fire, Connect the Path, Joint venture, Reach the goal, Best communication, Build the Business, Treasure Hunt, Battle of brains, Hit the Wicket, Riddle time, Brain teaser, Guess the logo, Memory test, Puzzle Solving, Product Design were conducted throughout the 3 days. Students were actively participated in all the Events.

The 3 days mega fest came to an end on June 22. The valedictory ceremony was arranged at Main auditorium of Mcom premises at 2.30 PM. The special attraction of the closing ceremony was Arjun Kapikad the costalwood star and lead actor of upcoming blockbuster tulu movie, ABATHARA along with lead actress of the movie Gana Bhat. They and their entire team increased the beauty of entire fest and students were thrilled and excited to have them in the campus. Student coordinators escorted guest honour, principal and MCom coordinator to main stage. Ceremony began with prayer. Jose Thomas from Mcom previous welcomed the gathering. Arjun Kapikad wished all the students a bright future. He thanked the organisers for arranging such an unique event with a creative theme. He also told students to watch his upcoming movie without fail. The prizes are distributed to all the winners. The consolidated prizes were given to all the participants. Sharath Kumar from MCom final proposed vote of thanks. Sujesh and Sameeksha compered the event. The fest concluded with an attractive event 'THE DANCING HOUR' where all the participants and organisers danced for the tune and music of DJ Winston.
