Mangaluru: Awareness programme on environmental hygiene for school children held

Mangaluru, Jun 25: University Mangaluru, Unnat Bharath Abhiyan Forum, Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru, Srinivas Institute of Rural Reconstruction Agency, in association with Grama Panchayat Pavoor and DK Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Malar had organised an inaugural programme in the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School.

The programme aimed to collect plastic, and conduct drawing and essay competitions for the school children of Malar. The programme was inaugurated by Sudharani Dhodamanni, PDO of Grama Panchayat, Pavoor. Presided by Mohammed Ansar, vice president Grama Panchayat, Pavoor. Abdul Nazeer, SDMC president, DKZP Higher Primary School, Malar was the chief guest of this programme. Guest of honour of this programme was Kamaruniza Nowfal president, Grama Panchayat Pavoor, Manjappa HH secretary, Grama Panchayat Pavoor, Shakunthala, head mistress, DK Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School Malar, Ravikala, Rizwan, Meharunisa, Chennamma members of Grama Panchayat Pavoor, and programme faculty convenor professor Joyson P Cardoza was present.

Total participants comprised 40 students of DK Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School Malar and student convenors of first Year MSW were presented. The president of this programme Mr Mohammed Ansar explained to the children regarding Effects of Plastic on the Environment. Master of Ceremony was done by the Jyothi, Sijo has delivered the welcome address and the vote of thanks was proposed by Raju.
