Puttur, Jun 28: Puttur Taluk Chess Association and Vokkaliga Gowda Seva Sangha, Puttur organized Karnataka State U- 17 Open Fide Rated Chess Championship held at Vokkaliga Gowda Samudaya Bhavana, Puttur from June 24 to 26.
Manvith K (I PCMB) of St Philomena PU College, Puttur added one more feather of success to the institution by securing the second place in the Chess Championship. He scored 7 points from 9 rounds and is selected for the National Level Chess Tournament to be held at Odisha. He is the proud son of Damodar Kanajalu and Rashmi P S. He is trained by Sathyaprasad Kote, Aravinda Shashtri and Stany G A.
