Mangaluru: Shree Devi Institute of Technology inaugurates Annual Day celebration

Mangaluru, Jun 29: Shree Devi Institute of Technology, a unit of Shree Devi Education Trust, Mangaluru, has inaugurated its, 'Annual Day Celebration' on June 29 in the college auditorium. Dr Peter Fernandes, principal of Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, Moodabidri, was the honored chief guest. Maina S Shetty, secretary, Shree Devi Education Trust, presided the occasion. Dr K E Prakash, principal and director of Shree Devi Institute of Technology, and the convenor, professor Shwetha Shetty, assistant professor department of Business and Administration were present.

Dr Peter Fernandes was very much appreciative and had kind words of commendation towards the college’s achievements in the academic and social disciplines. He then motivated students with his dynamic words starting with a quote 'Students life is a golden life' and then insisted students to 'believe in themselves'. To quote Ratan Tata, he also said, “All of us do not have equal talent. Yet all of us have an equal opportunity to develop our talents.”

Dr K E Prakash read the students’ and the faculty’s achievements in the annual report for the academic year 2021-22.

The academic toppers and the best outgoing students of each department were felicitated. Akshant, dept of Mechanical Engineering (2018-22); Naga Prajwal, dept of Civil Engineering (2017-21); Namratha Singura Appachu, dept of Computer Science and Engineering (2016-20) were conferred with 'Dr B R Samaga Gold Medal Award' for their excellence in academic and co-curricular fields.

Masters of ceremony for the function were Bhumika A R and K R Arjun Nambiar. Vote of thanks was proposed by professor Shwetha Shetty, department of Business and Administration, the convenor for the event.
