Mangaluru: Mother Mary Aloysia Eighth Endowment Lecture organised at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Jul 2: The Eighth Mother Mary Aloysia Endowment lecture was organised at the conference hall by the IQAC of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.

The day also marked the 102nd establishment day. The resource person for the lecture was Jacintha Jayachandran, social entrepreneur, leadership & life coach, strategic corporate advisor, writer and public speaker, Bengaluru. In her topic ‘Leading from the front for an equal future’ she emphasized that equality is a human right and supporting special needs in a person’s life is equity.

"The greatest equalizer is education itself where women are given opportunities to have it. Inner happiness for a woman is most important than the outer world and for inner peace there is no need for validation and approval from people around you, " she said adding that at times she felt that women did concentrate on the outer world first. She highlighted on the three C’s, computer, communication and confidence which women should incorporate in their lives. She ended her motivational speech by highlighting on the fact that to create an equal family is the work of both men and women which will bring hope, education and employment in the society.

The talk was attended by Sr Dr Lydia Fernandes joint secretary and superior of St Agnes Institutions, principal Sr Dr Venissa A.C., PG Coordinator Sr Dr Vinora A C, members of the IQAC, faculty of UG and PG and student leaders of both UG and PG courses of study.

Helen Serrao, dean Science compered the programme, principal Sr Dr Venissa accorded words of welcome and introduced the resource person Jacintha Jayachandran. The IQAC coordinator Dr Ita D’Souza rendered the vote of thanks and the chief librarian Dr Vishala B K was the convenor of the programme.
