Puttur, Mar 22: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, said that environment-friendly tourism is expected to begin in Kudremukh area soon. He explained that at present, certain rules of the forest department have been coming in the way of starting these tourism projects.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday March 21, Palemar said that the tourism department has planned to begin heli-tourism in the area.
He said that use of plastic is being phased out gradually in the state, duly explaining that the temples have been asked to use jute bags in place of plastic bags while delivering Prasadams. Steps are also being taken to replace plastic glasses with glasses made of paper and areca spathes, he added.
On persistent questioning about factionalism in the state BJP, he said he is not disgruntled at the style of functioning of the Chief Minister, and that in politics, he has always remained contented. He felt that the MLAs are in order in attending meetings convened by the state BJP president, noting that even the Chief Minister attends such meetings. He insisted that there is no differences within the state government as reported in a section of the press, duly asserting that the state government continues to be on a strong footing.
