Mangalore: Campaign to Connect Unorganized Workers for NPS Scheme from Apr 1

Mangalore, Mar 22: A campaign will be initiated to connect unorganized workers such as autorickshaw drivers, lorry drivers, bus drivers, tailors and hotel employees among others for National Pension Scheme, a self pension scheme from April 1.

The initiation has been taken up by district Karmik Parishad, informed Ivan D’Souza, the president of D K District Karmik Parishad Bus Employees Union, at a press conference held on Tuesday March 22. He said that the union has been demanding social security measures for the unorganized employees, hence the new pension scheme introduced in favour of former by the central government will benefit them.

He also urged the bus owners to implement the scheme in order to avail the benefit to more than 8,000 bus employees.
