JD-U MLA, brother in Gopalganj among 5 named in FIR

Patna, Jul 8 (IANS): JD-U MLA Amrendra Kumar Pandey and his brother Satish Kumar Pandey were among five named in a FIR filed on Friday in Bihar's Gopalganj on charges of land grab, police said.

"We have received a written complaint against 5 persons including Amrendra Kumar Pandey and his brother. Besides, 60 to 70 unknown persons were also booked in this incident. The complaint was filed by Hari Kishore Pandey. The complainant has a piece of land in Gosai Tola which was allegedly grabbed by Pandey brothers," SHO, Town, Lalan Singh said.

Hari Kishore Pandey claimed that the MLA and his 60 to 70 supporters reached his land a few days ago and tried to grab it. He claimed that the land belongs to him and its registry paper is also on his name.

Amrendra Kumar Pandey, the JD-U MLA from Kuchaikot, dismissed the allegations levelled against him and his brother as "completely baseless".

"When investigation takes place, I will come clean. There is no truth in the allegation," he said.
