UP: Mutilated body of 4-yr-old found, leopard attack suspected

Balrampur (Uttar Pradesh), Jul 11 (IANS): The mutilated body of a four-year-old girl was found in the Panchpedwa forest area here.

Villagers claimed that the girl, Roshni, was mauled to death by a leopard, but forest officials said that no pug marks were found at the spot.

According to reports, the girl went missing while she was sleeping outside her house on Saturday night and her badly mutilated body was found in the forest area on Sunday.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Forest officials have advised the villagers to remain indoors and move out only in groups.

Forest officer Kotesh Tyagi said on Monday that necessary action will be taken after the post-mortem report is received.
