Malaysia reports 3,264 new Covid-19 infections, 2 new deaths


Kuala Lumpur, Jul 11 (IANS): Malaysia reported 3,264 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the national total to 4,595,974, according to the Health Ministry.

Malaysia reported over 3,200 Covid-19 cases as of Sunday 12 a.m.

There are five new imported cases, with 3,259 cases being local transmissions, data released on the Ministry's website showed.

Two new deaths have been reported, pushing the death toll to 35,811, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Ministry reported 2,703 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,524,281.

There are 35,882 active cases, with 43 being held in intensive care and 26 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 5,277 vaccine doses administered on Sunday alone and 85.9 per cent of the population have received at least one dose, 83.7 per cent are fully vaccinated and 49.5 per cent have received boosters.
