Kodanad heist, murder case: Jayalalithaa's driver questioned


Chennai, Jul 14 (IANS): The special police team investigating the 2017 heist and murder case, at the Kodanad estate jointly owned by late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, questioned her former driver on Thursday.

The driver, Gunashekharan who hails from Cherankulam in Tiruvarur district was questioned at Police Recruits School (PRS) in Coimbatore.

Gunasekharan was Jayalalithaa's driver, along with the heist's alleged mastermind, Kanagaraj who was run over by a truck three days after the murder.

The Kodanad heist and murder case took place on April 23-24, 2017, wherein guard Om Bahadhur was killed and another guard Krishna Thapa was grievously injured.

Police sources told IANS that they are interrogating the driver to get more details on Kanagaraj.
