Suva, March 27 (IANS) An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted Fiji region Sunday, said US Geological Survey.
The quake's epicentre, with a depth of 13.40 km, was located 139 km west of the country's northeastern town of Lambasa and 341 km west of Fiji's capital Suva, Xinhua reported.
According to the USGS, the quake struck the region at 10.49 a.m. local time (2249 GMT Saturday).
The epicenter was initially determined to be at 15.7885 degrees south latitude and 179.4936 degrees west longitude. T
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
