Udupi: Government requested Rs 25 lacs to renovate Pariyala community auditorium

Udupi, July 16: “A blueprint for demolishing and renovating the old and feeble Samaja Mandira building is prepared and the work that requires approximately Rs 86 lacs is started. Rs 28 lacs worth work is completed after collecting Rs 13 lacs from members and Rs 15 lacs from the government. Another Rs 25 lacs are needed.

The chief minister, Udupi district in charge minister and minister of social welfare should complete the building,” said Pariyala sangha president Shanker Salian Katpady.

Speaking at the Udupi Patrika Bhavan on Saturday, July 16, he said that the elders had bought Rs 25 cents land at Uchila and constructed the auditorium there.

“Pariyala is one of the 27 groups of Savita Samaja indulging in hair cutting business. We are strengthening the Samaja Sudharaka Sangha started by our elders about 80 years ago. It has extended scholarships to poor students and monetary help to poor sick people,” he said.

Secretary Sudhaker Salian Katpadi, Pravin Kumar, Salian Bejai, Manjunath Salian Trasi, Mahesh Suvarna Arate, Manoj Salian Belman, Sujay Suvarna Vakwadi and Shekhar Salian Adi Udupi were present.
