Kerala film actor dies a recluse, body in mortuary


Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 18 (IANS): Octogenarian actor Raj Mohan who was living in an old age home here for the past four years, after being admitted to a state-run hospital earlier this month, passed away on Sunday. His body, till Monday, remains in mortuary.

Raj Mohan was the son-in-law of yesteryear's popular figure Kalanilayam Krishnan Nair who had drama troupes, and produced and directed Malayalam films.

Raj Mohan acted in more films after 1967-released Malayalam film 'Indulekha'. He was in the news four years back for his living conditions.

He was living in an old age home in the state capital and on July 4, he was admitted to the state-run General Hospital and breathed his last on Sunday.

The office of State Minister for Cooperation, who also holds the Films portfolio, V.N.Vasavan, has given directions to the concerned officials to see that all the necessary steps are taken to see that the departed actor is given a befitting funeral.
