Mangaluru: Srinivas University organizes prison awareness programme

Mangaluru, Jul 18: With the blessings of A Shama Rao, founder of Srinivas University and under the guidance of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor Srinivas university Mukka, Surathkal, Mangaluru. On July 15 department of forensic science conducted one day awareness programme for prisoners in district prison Mangaluru by undergraduate and post graduate students along with faculties of Forensic Science department with the help of jail superintendent and staffs, district prison, Mangaluru. The purpose of the visit was to create awareness among the prisoners: through a reformative programme.

The chief guest for this programme was Shobha B J, senior civil court judge, along with B T Obhaleshappa, superintendent district prison Mangaluru and Swathi D, course coordinator, department of Forensic Science, Srinivas University. Students conducted anawareness session through a skit and tried to convey a message that 'Not to lose hope as mistakes shall be rectified and one can overcome the hardships in life'.

At the end of the programme prisoners gave feedback and shared their feelings. The guest along with the organizer addressed the public and gave their opinions. The programme was ended by felicitating the dignitaries on the dais.
