Mangaluru, Jul 18: Lourdes Central School Vanamahotsava Week was inaugurated on July 4 during the assembly on the theme 'A Tree for the Future'.
A week long programme was organized by conducting assemblies to spread valuable and meaningful messages on various topics such as Our Green Saviours, Making a Green World and Importance of Medicinal plants. Melodious songs, magnificent poems, fabulous Role play were presented to protect and save the environment. The students took a pledge to protect and nurture the nature.
Principal, Fr Robert DSouzaencouraged and motivated the students to plant saplings to protect the greenery at home and in school. He also urged the students to love Nature, Save Earth and Save Life.
The Finale of Vanamahotsava Week was held on July 16. Various Competitions were conducted such as Colouring, Drawing, Collage Making, Book Mark, Elocution, Poetry Writing, Placard with Slogans and Poster Making. Students actively participated in all the activities which increased awareness and love for trees.
