Mangaluru: Government First Grade College Kavoor celebrates Vanamahotsava

Mangaluru, Jul 20: Eco Club ,Youth Red Cross Unit and NSS in association with Rishi Cultural and Social Foundation jointly organised Vanamahotsava on the occasion of Azadi ki Amrith Mahostav on July 19 in the college auditorium. It was celebrated by planting saplings by the faculty members of the college with the office bearers of Rishi Foundation.

Forest ranzer, Mangaluru region Prashanth Pai also accompanied in the social cause. Madhava Ullala, the environmentalist graced the occasion as the resource person. Addressing the gathering, he requested the students to be the part of nature, listen and talk to trees. This habit increases the patients in everyone and urged all the students to carry on the tradition of passing on the healthy environment and eatable fruit trees to the future generation and self-growing vegetables and marketing them can reduce unemployment to greater extent. Rishi Foundation members and faculty of the college felicitated Madhava Ullal for his unbelievable social service of planting various plantsapplings and his continuous efforts of inspiring students of various educational institutions in this regard.

College principal Dr Shivaram P presided over the programme. Avinash, the president and Devika Sullya, the coordinator of Rishi Foundation, the office bearers Diwakar Padmunja, Roopa J Padpu, Keerthana Kulal, Mohandas, Vijayavani senior press reporter, Rekha S N, coordinator of Youth Red Cross and Mohini, the NSS programme officer were part of the programme. Krithika welcomed the gathering, Jyothi was the MC and Manjula proposed vote of thanks.
