Mangalore, Mar 29: Bhoomipuja for Raheja Water Front, a residential complex, which will come up at a sprawling site in Kulai Chitrapur near here, was performed on Monday March 28. The project, which will be located within a walking distance from the sea, is being executed by Raheja Universal and Asha City Builders and Developers.
State higher education minister, Dr V S Acharya, who participated as the chief guest of the function, hailed the project, which he said, is an excellent combination of comprehensive ideas, foresight and impeccable facilities, as a model concept in the area of residential housing. “Both these concerns have a tradition of prestigious projects and trustworthiness. This project will be an invaluable contribution to Karnataka coast,” he remarked. At the same time, Acharya revealed that the state government has made recommendations to the central government to bring some amendments to Coastal Regulatory Zone policy for paving way for the integrated progress of the coast. He felt that if the recommendations are accepted, coastal Karnataka will witness a number of development initiatives.
Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji of Chitrapur Mutt delivered benedictory address. He wished that the new project will prove to be a great contribution not only to the coastal belt but also to the country as a whole.
State housing minister, V Somanna, industries minister, Murugesh Nirani, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna Palemar, assembly deputy speaker, N Yogish Bhat, MPs, Nalin Kumar Kateel and Cheluvaraya Swamy, MLAs, Abhaychandra Jain, U T Khader, C T Ravi and Ashwathnarayan, MLC, Basavaraj Horatti, city mayor, Pravin, Mangalore Urban Development Authority chairman, Dr B Madhava Bhandary, Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, former minister, K Amarnath Shetty, corporator, Ganesh Hosabettu and several other dignitaries were present.
Bollywood and Sandalwood stars like Suniel Shetty, Ramesh, Murali, Ravichandran, Darshan, Bhavana, Pooja Gandhi, Ragini, Yash, Sudeep and director, Venkatesh, added glitter to the function. Because of the presence of popular dignitaries and cine stars, a sea of humanity was witnessed at the Chitrapur beach.
Managing partner of Asha City Developers and chairman of MRG Hospitality Infrastructure Private Ltd, K Prakash Shetty, welcomed. He explained that his company has taken up this prestigious project in association with Raheja, in a 50-acre plot on the beach front. He added that the residential complex, which will be equipped with all modern amenities and ultra modern design, will be his gift to his native place. The project will have a number of multi-storied residential complexes, to be built at a cost of Rs 1,200 crore.
Vice chairman of Raheja Group of Concerns, Rahul Raheja, delivered introductory address. He said that this new project will provide a boost not only to employment opportunities, but also tourism in the region. He said he was proud to be associated with Prakash Shetty and Suniel Shetty. Managing director of Raheja Group, Ashish Raheja, and others were present.
