Puttur: ‘Winning Manjeshwar Constituency, a Challenge for BJP’ – Kateel

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Mar 29: “The BJP was about to clinch victory from Manjeshwar assembly constituency in all the five previous elections. It lost every time by a narrow margin. In view of this, the party has taken it as a challenge this time, to make its candidate victorious from this constituency. We have left our past bitter experiences behind, and are moving ahead with added vigour and determination,” said Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Speaking to press persons here on Monday March 28, Kateel noted that stalwarts like the late Shankar Alva and the late K G Marar were deprived of serving the society on a larger scale because of minor hiccups. Recollecting that BJP leaders have lost successive assembly elections in Manjeshwar with a small margin, he pointed out that the margin of loss against CPM last time was 4,800 votes.

He said that the party has taken winning Manjeshwar seat as a prestige issue in this year’s assembly election. He added that the party has decided to make all out efforts for the victory of its candidate, Surendran.

Kateel said that the BJP has a few favourable pockets in Kerala, and that it has the potential to emerge as a force to reckon with there. He expressed confidence that the BJP will begin its victory march in Kerala by bagging Manjeshwar seat this time.
