Mangaluru: Srinivas University organises workshop on 'Advanced Chemistry for Better Tomorrow'

Mangaluru, Jul 20: A workshop on Advanced Chemistry for Better tomorrow was organised at Srinivas University – Institute of Engineering and Technology.

This programme was sponsored by the Karnataka Science and Technology, government of Karnataka. The programme was also collaborated with DK Chemistry Lecturers' Association and DK Principals' Association. This event was conducted on July 18 at the Srinivas Engineering College Campus, Mukka.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof Jayanna – DDPU of Dakshina Kannada. the chief guests were Prof Gangadhar Alva, president of DK principal association and Prof Jayananda Suvarna – president of DK Chemistry Lecturer association. Pro vice-chancellor Dr Satya Sai Kumar presided over the programme, Dr Anil Kumar – registrar and Dr Thomas Pinto – dean of Engineering College and Dr Praveen B M convener of the programme were presented in the programme.

DK Chemistry Lecturers' Association felicitated Prof Jayanna for achieving 88% PU results and the highest percentage result in the entire Karnataka Prof Jayanna stressed the present requirement of chemistry for society and the syllabus of chemistry for PU students. He stressed giving good results in the forthcoming examinations.

Dr Satya Sai Kumar – pro VC stressed the chemistry activities in the world. Dr Thomas Pinto informed about various courses available at Srinivas Engineering College. Dr Anil Kumar expressed thanks to the organisers to conduct this event at Srinivas University.

Prof Jayanand Suvarna and Prof Gangadhar Alva were present on the programme. DK chemistry lecturer association felicitated around 40 BPL students who have scored 100 marks in the last PU exams. The association also felicitated 40 lecturers who gave good results in the last examination. Dr Praveen B M welcomed the gathering.

Dr Ramakrishna Hegde expressed a vote of thanks and Prof Rohan was the MC and Madhavi Acharya prayed the song. Dr Satya Sai Kumar Pro VC gave the Keynote address of the programme.

Afternoon two sessions were conducted on the practical experiment in the PU syllabus by Prof Santosh Kumar and Prof Vani.
