Bantwal, July 20: A public relations meeting of western zone anti-corruption bureau police SP and ACB police station DySP was held at SGSY auditorium of taluk panchayat here in the evening on Wednesday, July 20.

Answering a question, District SP C A Symond said that the officials can only perform the work within the ACB and cannot conduct investigations outside their purview. “We are not permitted to investigate administrative matters. We will take action if complaints of demanding bribes are submitted to us,” he said.

“Government servants also can complain about matters that are within the limits of ACB,” he added.

Shabir Ahmed submitted a complaint to the ACB stating that RTC has not been issued even after buying the land a long time ago. “I have complained about it and submitted it under the right to information Act.” There were several complaints similar to this but none of them was within the purview of ACB.

“Though no complaints are received over demanding bribes, people should know that there is a department called ACB.” The officials gave details of the complaints that can be submitted to ACB in the future.

Special legal officer Judith Olga, inspector Sham Sunder, HC Hariprasad and Umesh were present in the meeting.
