Kids flock to this 'policewale' master's class in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, Jul 22 (IANS): He is known as the 'policewale master' and he does not invoke fear in the people.

Sub inspector Ranjit Yadav has taken on a new identity by offering free classes to under-privileged children.

Ranjit Yadav takes classes under trees and in open spaces where local children gather in large numbers. He also provides books and stationery to his 'students'.

Yadav told reporters, "I started these classes a few months ago when I saw their parents begging on the streets. Most of them said that their children would also take to begging to fend for themselves. I spoke to them about the need for education and then started these classes."

He said that initially, the number of children who came was small but then the numbers swelled and children now eagerly wait for his classes.

Yadav does have a tough time in shuffling between his duties and his classes.

But he says that his superiors are aware of his classes and allow him to adjust his duty hours whenever possible.
