Karkala: State level Kabaddi player Sushanth Shetty passes away

Karkala, Jul 23: State level Kabaddi player, Balladi, Mudradi resident Sushanth Shetty passed away at Kasturba Hospital, on Friday July 22 night. It is suspected that he died of rat fever.

Sushanth Shetty employed in a finance company at Udupi was suffering from fever since the last few days. As the fever was high, he was admitted to hospital yesterday. The fever affected his kidney and liver and he died without responding to treatment.

The definite cause of his death will be known only after medical tests. He has left behind his parents, a brother, a sister, wife and a year old son.

    RIP! Leptospirosis is very common bacterial infection after people with open wounds or cuts wade in flood waters containing urine of infected rodents and other animals! It's tricky to diagnose as symptoms mimic that of flu, dengue, thypoid etc.
