Smriti Irani hits back at Cong over remark on her daughter

New Delhi, Jul 23 (IANS): Union Minister Smriti Irani on Saturday dismissed the allegations that her 18-year-old daughter was running an 'illegal bar' in Goa. She reiterated that her daughter is a college student and does not run any bar. The minister added that she will take the matter to the court and the people.

Hitting back at the Congress, she said that her daughter's only fault is that her mother keeps on holding press conferences 'on the loot of Rs 5,000 crore' by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. "My daughter's fault is that her mother holds press conferences on the loot of Rs 5,000 crore by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Her fault is that her mother contested against Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in 2014 and 2019," Irani said.

Addressing a press conference, she said that she will defeat Rahul Gandhi again in 2024 from Amethi. She challenged Sonia Gandhi to field Rahul again in 2024 from Amethi.

Posing a question to Pawan Khera, Smriti Irani said that while showing the paper, he alleged that her daughter runs an illegal bar and for this she was also given a show cause notice, but Khera should say where is the name of her daughter in these papers.

"Jairam Ramesh has accused my daughter on the basis of RTI but he should tell whether my daughter's name is there in that RTI application? Is her name in that RTI reply," Irani questioned.

    Indstead of accepting truth, Smriti irani is shouting on congress. /shame on yu Smriti. YOu have misused the power and alalowed your daughter to establish bar. Tjhere might be some thing else running behind bar. This should be investigated. Smriti should clarify how licence was given to her daughter. This issue needs to be enquired deeply. This happens when uneducated people come to power.

    The party which has obtained the RTI information would have the details of the owner as well. If not the excise department has to answer how licences were given and who was running the bar. If an 18 year old can vote, an 18 year old can commit an illegal act also a legal act too. Just because she's a ministers daughter law cannot be subservient to those in authority. Let a thorough investigation be done and the guilty punished. Smriti irani can continue her challenges and tantrums against the Gandhi family. People are aware of the Gandhi family and their sacrifice to the nation.

    Give credit where credit is due. Aires Rodrigues, a Goan, who has selflessly devoted his life to improve Goa and is not affiliated to any political party uncovered evidence that Irani's daughter runs a bar in Goa with an illegal license.

    Stand yourself in her himself in her position, if you had a daughter what would have been your reaction, specially when your daughter is innocent Remember such allegations can only be made by desperate people who are rudderless without power in their hand
