Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School celebrates grandparents day

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Mount Carmel Central School paid a fitting tribute by celebrating Grandparents Day on July 23. The nursery and kindergarten children of the school were the hosts for the day.

The celebration commenced imploring God to pour out his blessings in abundance upon the grandparents. The principal Sr Melissa radiantly welcomed the gathering of about 450 grandparents, while the grandchildren swayed and danced to the tune of the welcome song.

The cultural programme was an assemblage of songs and dances in different languages which was not only delightful but also left most of the grandparents teary eyed. The chief guest Stany Menezes, former army personnel, Bondel reminisced a few of his personal memories and also cited “Today, if grandparents are their grandchildren’s identification, it would be a proud moment to be identified by their grandchildren a few years from now”.

The little MC’s of the celebration confidently took over the ceremony. Teacher Neetha Pais conducted games full of fun, frolic and competition. The winners were felicitated by the administrator Sr Carissima and the chief guest Stany Menezes.

Teacher Sandra accorded a heartfelt note of gratitude. Refreshments were served at the end of the programme. The ambience was filled with an aura of gladness, gratification and gratitude.
