New Delhi, March 31 (IANS): Leading low-cost carrier (LCC) IndiGo Thursday said it has selected Pratt and Whitney made engines to power its new fleet of 150 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

"The decision represents 300 firm PW1100G engines with options for additional engines," said the company in a statement.

The statement further said that it has also chosen the American company to provide maintenance for the 'PurePower' engines.

The company said the engines were chosen on the basis of their advantage of less fuel consumption and increased savings.
