Top Gujarat Sports Award for Munaf, Yusuf Pathan


Gandhinagar, April 4 (IANS) The Gujarat government said Sunday it would bestow the state's highest sports award - Eklavya Puraskar - on Munaf Patel and Yusuf Pathan - two members of the victorious Indian World Cup team who hail from the state.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that Gujarat was proud of its contribution to India's world cup victory and has decided to reward Munaf Patel and Yusuf Pathan, both from the state, with the award, which comprises a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, a memento and a certificate of honour.

Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team on its splendid victory over Sri Lanka Saturday and for bringing laurels to the nation.

    Cash prize only 1 Lakh ????? this is for what & For Why ? All state governments are giving huge amount for thier world champion state players but Gujarat only 1 lakh I am  really shocked.
