Udupi, Aug 1: “Two people are already arrested in connection with Praveen Nettaru murder case. Police department is trying to trace two more accused,” said minister Angara.
Angara further said, “The government has taken quick action after the incident. We will take actions to prevent any recurrence of these kinds of murders. We will install 32 CC cameras on Karnataka-Kerala border. The chief minister (CM)has already given the go ahead. We will give details of those who are found in Bengaluru later. Not two but four people are being traced.”
Replying to query on mass resignation of BJP workers, Angara said, “It is natural that the party workers of BJP are enraged. I went to Delhi on July 25. The murder took place on the night of July 26. On the same day I came back to Bengaluru and then to Mangaluru. I have taken all action that needs to be taken.
“District in charge minister Sunil Kumar also has discharged his duties properly. CM Basavaraj Bommai himself visited Bellare. Now the workers are pacified. I have told them to understand the reality. Some have resigned. But resignation is not the solution. The real compensation is giving proper punishment to the assailants,” he said.
When asked about demand of Praveen’s family to encounter the killers, Angara said that family members can say anything as they are under stress and emotionally disturbed.
On the issue of not visiting the house of Masood, Angara said, “I have not done any discrimination. Praveen Nettaru was murdered. Masood has ganja cases on him. He was killed for personal reasons. That is not the kind of murder like Praveen. We do not believe in discriminating on the basis of Hindu, Muslim or Christian.”
