“It was an amazing experience being involved in writing the lyrics and the entire creation process of my songs. My goal was to make an album that can reach people on a personal level of all ages while having fun, and I hope that you find some meaning from it, no matter who you are. It mixes a huge range of styles, drawing on folk music, Rock, Hip hop, Rap , R&B, Hindustani classical and pop music. It layers all of these styles in instrumentation and vocal technique, shifting from vocal styles of each genre to create diverse flavors”, says Trishna.
In addition to completing her album, she has shot two music videos for her songs. She is currently active in projects involving her album and performing, moving forward and never stopping!
Trishna Amin is a fresh graduate with a degree in Music Performance from Drew University, USA. Her calling for a professional career in singing and performing began when she was 7-year-old. Since her childhood, singing songs and expressing herself on stage was Trishna's way of "writing in a journal and telling stories and parts of myself in every song I sang". She also started writing poems and songs at a very young age, weaving her thoughts into stories that could one day be put to melodies.
Trishna has branched out since then, performing in front of varied crowd. “From the beginning I have been inspired by a range of genres and challenged myself to learn innovative and new styles of singing. ”Now Trishna sings all types of music, from hip-hop and pop to classical and modern Hindi music to rock, R&B and the list goes on. She is trained in both Western classical and Hindustani classical singing, and piano.
Trishna can also speak English, Spanish, Hindi, and Tulu, and she can sing in those languages, as well as German, Italian, and Irish. Trishna has sung in the Pan-African Choir and the women’s a capella group, which has performed on both the East and West coasts. She has also performed for parades in New York City and festivals all over the East Coast, and has performed in Carnegie Hall apart from performance at various private parties, radio stations, and charity functions, throughout her childhood, and continues to do so.
“Music is an important outlet in my life. It allows me to be myself and to become comfortable in my own skin. The stage feels like my home; it’s where I can let loose and express emotions through my performance. It’s my safe haven. I am so lucky and privileged to pursue this as my career, where I can entertain people and explore stories and feelings through music and enjoy every bit of it. I believe that music connects people in a way that nothing else can, and that power, to me, is beautiful and should be cherished”, says Trishna.
