Mangaluru, Aug 2: Investor Awareness Programme (IAP) was held at Government First Grade College, Kavoor in collaboration with Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association (MUCTA) on August 1 in the College Auditorium.
Dr Ummappa Poojary, associate professor, dean – academics, Shree Gokarnanateshwara Educational institutions graced the occasion as the chief guest during the inaugural and gave a beautiful message to all our students to start investing early, choose the company wisely and stay invested for a long time.
Leo Amal A, senior branch Manager of Franklin Templeton India Pvt Ltd was the guest of honour for the inaugural and resource person of the second session.
Professor Manoj Louis, general secretary, MUCTA and IQAC coordinator of GFGC Kavoor gave a prelude to the IAP. Dr Shivarama P, principal presided over the inaugural programme. The guests were welcomed by Poojashree of III BCom and president of students council, Shreya of III BBA proposed a vote of thanks. The inaugural programme was beautifully compered with Jayalakshmi of III BCom.
I session was effectively conducted by Naveen Rego, SEBI Registered Certified Financial Planner (CFP) on the topic, ‘Financial Literacy’. Vidya, III BBA introduced the speaker and proposed the vote of thanks to the speaker.
II Session was taken by Mr Leo Amal A, senior branch manager of Franklin Templeton India Pvt Ltd on the topic, ‘Time Value of Money – When to Start Investing’. Gautam, III BCom introduced the speaker and proposed vote of thanks to the speaker.
Yvonil D’souza, Personal Investment Services professional was the speaker for the post-lunch session, hands on session on ‘Personal Investment Planning’. Students were given worksheets to go through the discussions and answer the questions so as to understand the basics of Personal investment Planning.
All in all, the day was very fruitful for 130 students and teachers who took part in this IAP.
