BJP to organise 14K NaMo Kisan Panchayats in Gujarat

Gandhinagar, Aug 2 (IANS): The BJP's Kisan Morcha is planning to organise 14,000 NaMo Kisan Panchayats across Gujarat to create awareness about the state and central government's pro-farmers and agriculture programmes and policies.

BJP Kisan Morcha President Hitesh Patel told IANS that around 1,800 party workers will be selected and given training about the government's programmes and policies on four subjects like power, irrigation, agriculture & animal husbandry and rural development.

It will be a five-day programme running from August 22 to 27.

The BJP would get TV screens installed on two wheelers on which the party workers would be travelling to villages.

Each worker would address farmers in 10 villages from September 2 to 17.

Patel said that the party is targeting to reach out to 20 lakh farmers in 15 days.

An audio-visual clip of 10 minutes will also be played that will highlight the irrigation projects in the respective areas, and to how many farmers or villages the projects have reached.

The party also plans to get the feedback from farmers and villagers.

Each villager will have to file forms and share details about which government programmes or policy benefit one has taken.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, playback and Gazal singer Manhar Udhas joined the BJP in presence of Gujarat unit party president C.R. Patil.
