Mangaluru: MSNIM–Rotary Biz Quiz organised

Mangaluru, Aug 6: Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) in association with Rotary Club of Mangalore North organised ‘MSNIM–Rotary Biz Quiz 2022’ on Friday August 5 at the institute campus in Bondel in the city. Students of 22 degree colleges from in and around Mangalore participated in the business quiz. The quizmaster was Sachin R Chandra, assistant professor, department of Commerce, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal.

Dr Shivaprasad K, dean of Yenepoya Homeopathic Medical College and past assistant governor of Zone-2, Rotary International Dist 3181 inaugurated the event.

Jeevandas Narayan, correspondent, MSNIM presided over the function.

In his address, Dr Shivaprasad gave an insight into Rotary movement and said that activities like quiz help to disseminate knowledge among young minds.  He congratulated MSNIM for organising the quiz. Dr Rajesh Nayak, director-training, College of Banking and Financial Studies, Sultanate of Oman, conducted a special session on the topic and Management Lessons from Cricket History.

In his presidential address, Jeevandas Narayan emphasised four essential things to achieve success. Overcome your fears by getting out of your comfort zone, seize the opportunity whenever you get it, be a continuous lifelong learner, and do what you like or like what you do, he advised the students.

Canara College won the first place, while SDM, Ujire, and Vivekananda College, Puttur won the second and third place, respectively. Manel Annappa Nayak, vice president, Women’s National Education Society, distributed the prizes to the winners. The institute director, Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, welcomed the gathering. Suresh Shenoy, faculty coordinator of the quiz, gave a briefing on the event.
