PM remembers freedom fighters who participated in 'Quit India Movement'


New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday remembered all those who took part in the Quit India movement and strengthened freedom struggle.

In a series of tweets , Prime Minister Modi said, "Remembering all those who took part in the Quit India Movement under Bapu's leadership and strengthened our freedom struggle."

Sharing a picture of Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Modi said, "Here is picture of Mahatma Gandhi at the start of the Quit India Movement in Bombay. (Sourced from the Nehru Memorial Collection)."

He also shared socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan's remark "August 9 has become a burning symbol of our national revolution."

"Inspired by Bapu, the Quit India Movement witnessed remarkable participation from people across all sections of society including greats like JP and Dr. Lohia," Prime Minister Modi added.

    Salutes to our genuine Destination who actively participated in quit India movement: Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Subhas Chandra Bose, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Asoka Mehta, Jaya Prakas Narayan, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Chakravarti Rajgopalachari. Well, no prizes for guessing those who stood on the side of the Oppressors!

    If any persons, who read Indian freedom fighters book , they only remember. Other wise lke commanman they say Mahatma Gandhi. That is why we want educated and literate persons who remembers everyone freedom fighter name.

    Funny thing is that Quit India Movement betrayed by his own organisations RSS & Hindu Mahasabha.... Sab noutanki hai bhai. He can fool his bhakthas only.

    Remembering with all respect "Quit India Movement" leaders and participants. Today most of us, automatically enrolled in Quiet India movement as silent spectators against injustice and oppressions. We need to read our freedom history again and get inspired to voice against slavery, corruption, oppressions and all social evils.
