Mangaluru: Educationist S Ganesh Rao to felicitate 75 achievers on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Mangaluru Aug 12: On the eve of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, founder chairman of GR Education Trust and Karavali Group of Colleges, S Ganesh Rao announced to felicitate 75 achievers including teachers and will provide scholarships to 75 students.

The scholarship to 75 students will be provided in the streams of Engineering, Physiotherapy, Hotel Management, Interior Design and Fashion Designing. An advisory committee for scholarship admission selection process has been constituted with former vice chancellor of Kannur University Dr M Abdul Rahiman, former vice chancellor of Karnataka state Open University Dr D Shivlingayya, president of Sharada Group of Institutions Prof M B Puranik, and member of planning commission Marcel Pinto as its members.

Students scoring within the rank of 2,000 in CET will get 100% scholarship in the fees, students scoring rank from 2,000-5,000 will be give 75% scholarship in academic fees and students scoring ranks between 5000-10,000 will be given 50% scholarship in fees. Others will be provided scholarships based on merit. These scholarships will be preferably given for financially backward, SC, ST, OBC, Minority, physically handicapped students and children of farmers, teachers, media professionals and soldiers. Felicitation to 75 achievers including teachers

On the eve of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav it has been decided to felicitate professors and teachers of primary, high school, PUC, degree, post graduate courses, medical, engineering, ayurveda, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy other professional courses and achievers from various other fields.

An advisory committee for this purpose has been constituted comprising of former Vice chancellor of VTU Belagavi Dr Balaveera Reddy, Former VC of RGUHS Bengaluru Dr S Ramananda Shetty and VC of Mangalore University Dr P Subrahmanya Yedapadithaya.

Chairman Ganesh Rao also announced to conduct 75 free medical camps by GR Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, on the eve of completion of 75 years of Independence.

GR Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre under GR education Trust has a well equipped 500 bedded teaching hospital with 85 ICU Bed, 24 hour casualty, blood bank, central lab, pharmacy, radiology department, operation theatre and ambulance services.
