Mangaluru: Expert PU College celebrates 75th Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 15: "We need to respect and honour the freedom fighters because of whom we are independent today. The contribution of the leaders of Dakshina Kannada towards the struggle for independence is noteworthy," said D Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South Constituency, chief guest of Independence Day celebration held at Expert PU College, Kodialbail.

The celebration was held at Shree Bhagavati Temple premises, Kodialbail. Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, emphasized all students to work hard and bring laurels to their parents, institution and the nation.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Ankush N Nayak, director of Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Architect Deepika A Nayak, Suresh Pai, trustee, Expert Educational & Charitable Foundation®, prof Ramachandra Bhat, principal, Expert PU College, Kodialbail, and Yogaratna Gopalakrishna Delampady were the other dignitaries present on the dais.

The national flag was unfurled by the chief guest accompanied by the national anthem. The event commenced with symphonious renditions of patriotic songs, instilling a strong sense of patriotism among the listeners.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, administered the oath of office to the newly elected members of the student council and delivered a message to the office bearers to exhibit good leadership skills. She said it is our duty as citizens to preserve the freedom, ethos and spirit of the nation that our martyrs sacrificed their lives for.
