Beltangady: Anugraha Educational Institutions celebrate Independence Day

Beltangady, Aug 15: Anugraha Educational Institutions Ujire, celebrated 75th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and zeal.

The chief guest Dr Rajath H P accompanied by the principal and the correspondent and other dignitaries unfurled the tricolour followed by the national anthem. This entailed a short celebration including the prize distribution and cultural programme by the students. 

The chief guest Dr Rajath, speaking on the occasion, told the students to understand and cherish the hard-earned freedom and urged them to work towards a progressive nation.

Addressing the students, the correspondent Fr James D'Souza said, "Every citizen of our country should follow the rules and regulations guided by the constitution of India," and extended his warm greetings on the occasion.

There was a display of patriotic programs by the students. The winners of various competitions were honoured with medals and certificates. PPC vice president Antony Fernandes, secretary Nithin Monis, PTA vice president Anand Krishna, management committee members, parents and parishioners witnessed the grand celebration.

Sr Nirmala and Arun Kumar compered the programme.
