Aug 15: Dakshina Kannada reports ten Covid cases, five infections in Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 15: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, August 15, reported 10 new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,445 out of which 76 are currently active. As many as 9 patients were discharged on August 15.

 


No deaths were reported on August 15. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,857.

 

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.11% percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Five coronavirus cases were reported on August 15. The total active Covid cases are 41.

A total of 10,90,191 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,825 have received both doses and 2,08,311 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported three cases, Kundapur added one and one case was from out of the district.
