Puttur: District level Swimming Competition held at St Philomena PU College

Puttur, Aug 16: The valedictory ceremony of district level swimming competition conducted jointly by PU Educational Board, Dakshina kannada and St Philomena P U college, Puttur was held at Dr Shivrama Karanth Balavana swimming pool, Puttur August 8.

The guest of honour,  Rtn Nihal P Shetty, Dash Marketing Co, Puttur appreciated the competitors and said, "Failure teaches a lot of things, more than winning, participation plays a major role."

The dignitaries distributed the trophies to the winners.

Team championship (Men's section)
Winners - St Aloysius P.U. College, Mangaluru.
Runners up - St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur

Team championship ( Women's section)
Winners - St Aloysius P.U. College, Mangaluru
Runners up - St Philomena P.U.College, Puttur

Principal Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, Everest Rodrigues, physical education director, Govt First grade college, Madikeri, Dr Jyothi, physical director, Vivekananda College were present on the occasion.

The physical directors, Elias Pinto and Rajesh Mooliya co ordinated the programme.

Dr Asha Savithri, Dept of Hindi compered the programme and Elias Pinto, physical director, St Philomena college proposed vote of thanks.
