Mangaluru, Aug 17: The LCS Summit 2022 was held on the August 13, at Bejai Church hall to honour and felicitate the CBSE board exam toppers of classes 10th and 12th.

The chief guest of the programme was D Kumara, IAS, chief executive officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat.

The event was presided over by Dr John Baptist Saldanha, manager of LCS. Fr Robert Dsouza, principal of LCS, Ashok Pinto and Preethi Gomes, vice-president and secretary of parish pastoral parishad, Bejai Church, Rashmi Dsouza, PTEC vice president, and Anita Thomas, vice principal LCS were the dignitaries on the dais. The students of classes 10, 11 and 12 were among the audience.

The programme sharply commenced at 9 AM with the prayer song by the school choir, welcome dance by the students of secondary section and the welcome address by the principal Fr Robert D'souza.

Next on the list was the felicitation and honouring ceremony for the school toppers of 10th and 12th Board exams for the batches 2021-22, 2020-21and 2019-20. All the students who scored 90 percent and above were also felicitated. Ms. Deepa Dsouza, Ms. Shaila Pereira and Ms. Sharmila Colaco read out the achievers list.

Principal Fr Robert D'Souza introduced the chief guest Dr Kumara and was felicitated by all the dignitaries.

In his key note address, the chief guest Dr Kumara enlightened the students with the sapthasutras to victory. He listed them as - Right goal, Right path, Right focus, Right dedication, Right emotion, and Right discipline. He also said that- "Scoring is important but scoring in life's exams is more important." He called upon the students to perceive success by saying, "Success should always be sustained." He had the words of gratitude and admiration for all the parents.

Dr J B Saldanha, in his presidential address elaborated the significance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He also added that," The dream project LCS that was set up 25 years ago in the 50th year of Independence is going to witness it's silver jubilee." He called upon the students as well as the parents to contribute towards this event in whatever way possible.

Adin D’Costa of Class 10 and Hiya Hegde shared their views on their schooling in LCS. Anita Thomas, vice principal proposed a vote of thanks.
