At present it is voluntary just like Aadhaar and vaccine and later they are indirectly made mandatory. Epic itself can be made foolproof as it contains photo and address. Aadhaar is compulsory only for govt benefits and voting is not benefit but people's right. With EVM s and VVPATS and Aadhaar link govt can trace which party people have voted, think before believing any schemes government initiates with slogan of safety or benefits. Digitization process of cash, land, personal information is dangerous if any government tries to control people enslavement as final end.

There was a news report that says it is voluntary. News reports and speeches by XYZ do not matter. ///I have gone through the gazette notification of the Amendment to the Rep. of Peoples Act on the ECI website. Nowhere have I come across the word voluntary inserted. Each voter is required to provide the UID(alias Aadhaar) or declare that he/she does not have one! Please check and share your understanding. So just like all other things this has been made voluntary mandatory! There is no option.

You are right but option of other proof out of 11 documents need to be linked. But catch is most of them are linked to the Aadhaar and it's easier for a Survailence State to track its citizens. With CCTV cameras installed in the name of security which are equipped with Face Recognition technology and cell phones we can be in a smart city as open air prison. Any government can target its opponents with spyware from Israel. Supreme Court ruling of privacy and barring use of other facilities requiring Aadhaar this dictat clearly violates.

Yes, thank you Sir. The other documents only come into play if one declares that they do not have a UID (alias Aadhaar). I would not be surprised if the procedures involved would then become so difficult that it would be easier to apply for UID and then for VID.
