Udupi: Independence Day celebrated at Christ School, Manipal

Udupi, Aug 18: The 75th Independence day was celebrated with nationalistic fervor in Christ School Manipal. The programme began by singing ‘VandeMatharam’ led by school choir.

Fr Romeo Lewis, correspondent hoisted the national flag. He emphasized the role played by citizens in making the country proud. Few students dressed depicting the role of the freedom fighters was the main attraction during the programme.

On the occasion a brand new school bus was also launched for the students commute. Fr Romeo Lewis, correspondent blessed the new bus. The members of the school managing committee, student leaders and teachers inaugurated the new bus by cutting the ribbon. Sweets were distributed to students on the occasion.

Eliza Vas, principal Mary A R Sreshta, vice-president parish pastoral committee, Regina Fernandes, secretary Dr Leslie Lewis, coordinator 20 Commissions, and Sathwik, school captain were present on the occasion.
